Wednesday Activities - page 2

It rained most of the night Tuesday to Wednesday morning so we woke up to cloudy skies. Today is the day we go to the Great Salt Plains Wildlife Refuge and dig selenite crystals from the salt plains. It takes about an hour and a half to get there. We got there and the plains were UNDER WATER and it was raining really hard. There was no way we could go crystal digging. So back to camp but we'll stop in Alva, OK at a McDonalds to get lunch. Then back at camp the sky was less threatening so we went swimming again... noone was at the pool so we basically had it to ourselves!! Great swimming day! We ate Hamburgers and Hot Dogs grilled here at camp. Then we headed up to the Selman Bat Cave to watch the bats emerge. While there we found a special animal (see below) and finally just at dark, the bats came out and flying everywhere around us.
