Arkansas Geo Trip

April 28-29-30, 2022

Once again Grampa Bob 14 (Uncle Bob) and I (ddvdude) head out on another one of our grand adventures. This time we'll meet up with Bob's grandson Luke up in Arkansas where he is attending school at UA. We had a good trip with a bunch of Earthcaches snagged.

We stopped for a regular cache on our way up and I spotted this MEAN tree...Yikes! We saw this incredible red wildflower growing so I used my plant app to ID it. It is Crimson Clover. One of our Earthcaches can be done from the side of a highway.

Here is a wide landscape view of it. It had a ton of tombstones very close together. Never saw them as packed as here.

And he did it in his sandels!! :) Then we headed to a nature preserve that was kept in excellent condition. It was here where we got like 16 of our 20 Earthcaches for the day!

20 years ago, I would have seen how far back that cave goes.... now a days, nope... nice cool air coming out though! A giant rock split down the middle. Bob with his notebook taking all of the notes needed for solving these earthcaches.

We had to cross this creek numerous times... I kept waiting to fall in on any or all of them... but I didn't! Luke meanwhile just walks up a fallen tree to the ledge about 15 feet up

No problem! I've seen Gypsum breakdown but here is a slab of limestone that just calved off the cliff side. Dripping wall
