Oklahoma Wildlife Expo - 09/28/19

 

Every year I take my stuffed bats and join Park Manager Mike Caywood of Alabaster Caverns in the Oklahoma Wildlife Expo where we try to educate the public about bats.

This year Mike got himself a 28 foot trailer filled up with all kinds of bat exhibits (including a few real bats) And new this year was the Alabaster Caverns mascot "Luna" ... she was outstanding with her acting and could draw kids from a block away to her! Luna is in there somewhere!

Luna got lots of hugs that day! So this annual event is held by the ODWC It is a free event held at the Flying E Ranch near Guthrie every year

It has lots of activities and hands on events as long as lots of display booths OSU had an incredible selection of insects on display Some of them would give you the ibby jeebies for sure!

The fishery department also has this 30 foot aquarium filled with Oklahoma fish Other booths show what they can do

Was here before it opened ... otherwise this is one of the popular location... kids get to shoot BB guns in an educational safety program. And all kinds of wild meats are made and served out in small portions so you can see if you like elk, buffalo, deer, or even opossum!
