Making a Nature Geocache

There is a guy up in NW Oklahoma who has placed most of the Boiling Springs State Park geocaches. He has not been in the best of health and one of his far far out of the way in the woods geocache was missing for the past year and a half. I contacted him and said I had a replacement for the cache and he gave me permission to go out and put it there. Here's the story about that.

So my friend Qunicey replaced his mailbox and was going to throw it away but I stopped him and took it. I had in mind replacing a missing cache up in Boiling Springs State Park in Oklahoma. It is way out in the remote NE corner of the park in the deep woods. True, only about 3 people a year make it that far but I thought this would make a great replacement.

So I contacted KBaldEagle to see if he would mind me replacing the lost cache... he replied not at all! So I filled it with swag, a nice notebook for a log.... Stickered it up and it was ready to go!

One mailbox nature cache! I usually stay in the park cabins and you can have the local animals walk within feet of you... deer and as you can see... ducks If you are eating outside, they REALLY like you!

So the various nature trails are nice in the NW part of Oklahoma. It is just grasslands around here but the high water table grew a forest around here. So after a 45 minute hike, I made it to GZ... dang mailbox was heavy!!
