Making Texas Mead - 11/15/19

 

Got 12 pounds of SW Texas Honey so I'll give making Mead (honey wine) a try. Been years since I made it and really needed 15 pounds but will have to do with 12 pounds. Takes a whole year to brew - in the carboy for 3 months before bottleing and leaving alone for 9 months. See ya around next Christmas!

5 gallons of mead - 12 pounds honey - 5 gallons water A movie showing the fermentation process. Yeast farting out Carbon Dioxide. The blow off tube keeps bacteria from entering the sweet richness of the carboy. Kept a heating pad on it to keep it about 70 degrees as I like a cold house in the winter.
