D Welcomes Meatball!

Well... let me introduce you to the latest member of the ddv household... Meatball.

Storyline: Here's the story of Meatball. I work in the Media Technology Center for Lawton Public Schools. We have about 10 feral cats that our director keeps around. On Wednesday Oct. 28th, we got a call from the middle school next to the Media Center... quick come and get your one of your cats before the dog pound takes it away. So the guy next to me and I go to the school to get this cat... we have no ideal what we're going to do with it as they are wild as can be and run from human's! But... we go. We get there and the custodian says Animal Control is at the front door with the black kitten. That was news... we don't have any black kittens. Just then we see him and he's holding this little black kitten who is just purring away... he says if we want it, we better claim it as he'll have to destroy it as they don't have room at the shelter. So we walked back to work with this little (smelly) kitty who is just as happy as can be to have someone holding it... purr purr purr.... we get to work and of course, no one wants a cat! <grin> We put it in a cat caddie (the thing you take them to the vet etc...) and it started whining like no body's business! So I took it and was petting it and it fell asleep in my lap. It stayed there for about 3 hours while I did my regular help desk calls with the gradebook. Meanwhile another tech guy said he saw it earlier at the park nearby (Elmer Thomas Park is near us) and kids walking to school were trying to keep it off the road. So it looks like it was abandoned at the park. So I took it home at lunch... gave it a pillow and some kitty chow and then left it to be until after work. I came home and washed her up and the next day took her to the vet to get shots, evaluation, etc.. she's about 12 weeks old and in pretty good shape. We'll go in another month and get de-clawed and de-baby'ed (fixed) since she'll be an inside cat the rest of her life! So next time you're at the house, you'll be greeted by Meatball!!
End of story....

enjoy

Plays with anything...including air! Her little cat house..tent on top, soft on bottom floor... plus a leopard skin pillow if neither of those work. Her favorite spot... since I'm there most of the time
