Mid Oct. I took Mom to go see my brother Darren in Roanoke, VA. Fall Break gave me a couple of free days to get away. Total days: 7 (4 days driving - 3 days there)

On our way to the winery, we traveled a scenic tour of the mountains. A two lane road called the Blue Ridge Parkway. Beautiful views and colors. We stumbled into Stonehedge...errr... Foamheadge... see the report If you've seen the Andy Griffith Show in Mayberry, then you'll know about Mayberry... we toured the town (Mt. Airy, NC) and took pictures of locations.

A historic Tavern where the likes of Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe hung out. A visit to an old mill... showing the parts and the water way... From the mountain in the middle of Roanoke, VA, views to the city below and colors of the landscape.
