| Selman Bat Cave Bat Watch Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. at Alabaster Caverns State Park. | Everyone attending has called thier reservation in sometimes a month ahead of time... each night is full so no walk-ins are accepted. | While waiting to start, each person is asked to answer a "How well do you know Mexican Free-Tailed Bats" quiz. |

| You can also watch a video on Bats of America while waiting for the 6:30 p.m. start of the experience. | Informatative displays tell you about the local wildlife and fauna. | The children's area features a puzzle, identify the pup (baby bat)by smell, and what guano looks like. |

| Then everyone heads down to the amitheater for an introduction, lesson, rules, and demonstrations. | Mel is our leader... | We have help from the local Venture Crew who also are experts in Search and Rescue. |

| Mr. Mike then shows the audience some live demonstrations on wildlife in the area. | You wouldn't want to meet this rattlesnake on the grass... so stay on the trail! | Mr. Mike is the park's naturalist and is licenced to care for wild animals until they could be released back into the wild. |

| Then off to the busses where we get driven out to the Selman Bat Cave Wildlife Area. | Beautiful bluffs surround this grassland prarie where the cave resides. | Guests have an option of taking a short nature trail where leaders tell of the surrounding ecology. |
