Day 1 - On the way to the Oklahoma Star we stopped by a virtual at a rest stop by the border... this was needed for the answer. We then did the 50 caches of the Oklahoma Star and headed to Shawnee, OK for a web cam cache... It was about 6 in the evening and we were in Kansas on the way to the Kansas Star to get a few done before night. This was a virtual on the way

ddvdude at Mingo (oldest cache - June 2000) The Colorado Star was different than the OK or KS stars... the other two were on county roads after you figured out the mystery caches. This one was 50 letterbox caches all on a grasslands preserve.. no vechicles... so we walked the 8.5 miles in 5 hours to get all of them!

The coolest and prettiest countyside was leaving the car behind and hiking up and over a mountain and into a Colorado valley to find Log Cabin. This is the kind of beauty I remember from this state... awesome! This isn't log cabin... it is an old mine site... but everyone takes a picture here.. including Grampa Bob 14

People would write pages (before the internet caught on) in here telling about thier experences. Now we use the web to log our finds! Then on to Utah... man... we drove the most wild trail (road?) to get to this place... drops of a 1,000 ft on the edge with mountain on the other side (and sometimes traffic!) We got there and the purple thisles were litteraly 6 feet tall!
