We used to go on an annual campout in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge near Lawton. We would start preparing about a month before by learning how to put up tents and then put our tents out on the playground and have class out there. Finally the big day (and night) arrives. Parents take us out to Fawn Creek Youth Camping area (reserved spot for groups) and we learn and play with the mountains as our classroom.
